Hygen Energy welcomes industry leaders to their Tyseley Hydrogen Hub

Last week at Hygen Energy-owned and operated Tyseley Hydrogen Production Facility (Tyseley), we welcomed Dr. Hervé Gregoire-Mazzocco from NEOM’s ENOWA X-Energy & Water Company, alongside Christian Tabet of HYCAP ME, to explore the key factors in building commercially viable hydrogen production ecosystems.

Tyseley is one of the UK’s largest and longest-operating electrolyser sites, offering a proven model for reliable hydrogen production and dispensing.

Hygen Energy owns and operates the site, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and ensuring that hydrogen can be produced and supplied at a competitive price.

“It was great to host Dr. Herve Mazzocco and Christian Tabet of HYCAP ME at Tyseley to showcase how Hygen Energy is delivering cost-effective, scalable hydrogen production. Real-world deployment is the key to unlocking hydrogen’s potential, and Tyseley is proving what’s possible.”

Our key site capabilities include:

3MWe electrolysis capacity, capable of producing up to 800kg of hydrogen per day — enough to fuel over 50 buses

Onsite 350 and 700 bar dispensing for hydrogen vehicles, alongside a tube trailer filling facility

Established hydrogen supply agreements with Ryze Power, JCB, and National Express LTD

Supporting trials with vehicle manufacturers, including Vauxhall Motors Ltd

The priority is no longer proving hydrogen’s feasibility — it is about scaling up production, reducing costs, and ensuring supply meets demand.
