About HyGen
HyGen Energy is setting the standard for clean hydrogen production, enabling end users to embrace the conversion to hydrogen-powered transportation. With the aim of establishing production-ready sites across the UK, and a wholesale distribution system in place via our affiliates.
HyGen, supported by key partners, is developing and delivering renewable energy source coupled electrolysis plants across the UK, with the project pipeline currently at 300MW. Our activities span origination, development, feasibility, concept and front-end engineering design, project delivery and operation and maintenance of hydrogen production plants.
HyGen aims to attract high-calibre individuals with a strong understanding of hydrogen projects and a deep appreciation of the underlying technologies and regulatory landscape.
About the Role
As an analyst you will be a key part of the HYGEN team, involved in the support of the existing portfolio of sites, and performing analysis and due diligence on new potential opportunities. The day-to-day role will be varied and so flexibility and agility are key, this will involve modelling, report writing, and key input and market research.
We are looking for self-starters who are able to develop new ideas which can encourage rapid development of the sector, as well as being willing to query and challenge existing assumptions. This role is targeted at those with 0-2 years of experience.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Technical and economic analysis
- Scientific and economic input into project models
- Commercial and financial modelling
- Investment and market research
- Assistance in the delivery of projects
- Communication and engagement with sister company Ryze and HYCAP (PE-backer)
- Preparation of investment and fundraising materials (at the SPV level)
Candidate requirements:
Required:
- Degree level qualification in a numeric, scientific or economic field (minimum 2:1)
- Excel/other modelling experience
- Office-based (5 days per week)(Oxford)
- Excellent report writing skills
- Demonstratable organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Willing to travel when required
- A passion for sustainability and work which achieves impact
- An understanding of the decarbonisation challenge
- Self-starter willing to contribute to a small team from day one
Preferable requirements, which will help an applicant:
- Knowledge of the UK energy sector (in particular, cleantech, renewables, hydrogen)
- Any financial/modelling experience
